The Quadriga is one of the most important awards in
German politics and at the same time a philosophy.
It recognises vision, courage and responsibility, honouring
role models that inspire us all. Role models for
Germany and role models from Germany.

The Quadriga is awarded in Berlin on Germany Unity Day every year to four personalities or institutions. The Quadriga is dedicated to all those whose courage brings down walls and whose commitment builds bridges.
The four prizewinners are always recognised for their contribution in particular areas. One Quadriga is awarded for a socio-political contribution that crosses borders and widens horizons. Another Quadriga is awarded for a spirit of community that is brought to the attention of the general public. A third Quadriga honours an innovative initiative that benefits both the community and the common good.
The “United we Care” category recognises a leading personality who serves humanity worldwide and who provides opportunities. “United we Care” is always associated with a specific project.
