Entrepreneurial asset management
The Altira Group is an owner-managed and at the same
time stock-market listed asset management company
that focuses on alternative investment strategies
for both institutional and private investors.
Altira concentrates on both established and new, forward-looking growth markets in the following areas:
• German SMEs & restructuring
• Renewable energies & commodities
• Africa
• Other selected alternative investments.
The investment teams of the Altira Group can exploit the opportunities presented by these growth markets by applying an active investment approach, known as high-alpha strategies, in order to achieve consistently above-average returns.
In their activities the investment teams tap the professional institutional infrastructure of the group, which takes over tasks such as those involved in risk management, finance/controlling, legal, marketing and sales (support) and IT. The Altira Group generally invests in the products of its investment teams as a seed investor, thereby ensuring that its interests are aligned with those of the investors in the products and the shareholders of the group as well.
Its structure and culture allow the Altira Group to combine asset management expertise with entrepreneurship. It is with this strategy that it pursues the objective of achieving a sustainable outperformance for the wealth of its high-end, demanding investors.
The management of the Altira Group is supported in its role by top-class personalities from the financial sector and business such as Axel-Günter Benkner, former Chairman of DWS Investment GmbH, Peter E. Merian, former CEO of Sarasin Bank, and Prof. Dr. Hans-Olaf Henkel, former President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and Head of IBM Germany.
